Painting measures 22"W x 17" H. Signed Berla Iyone Emeree, born in Wichita, Kansas, 8/7/1899, raised in El Paso, Texas. At 17, she studied in Philadelphia with Frank Benton Ashley Linton and Michael Jacobs, in Texas with Jose Arpa, Xavier Gonzalez, and Rolla Taylor. She opened the Emeree School of Art in 1924, and operated the Emeree Scenic Drive School in El Paso in the 30's & 40's.
