Teresa (Tess) Razalle Carter, (1888- 1972), signed, 32 3/8" W x 42.25" H, oil on canvas, in original hand-hewn frame, c. 1930's - 40's, listed. Using both plant and mineral-based pigments, this Southern California artist painted past and present scenes into each of her plein-air California Mission paintings. The past, mineral-based, comes to life under ultra-violet light.
